Bandleader, Cartoonist, Actor. Born in Girona, Spain, he worked as a cartoonist for "Los Angeles Times" newspaper, and in the early 1930s he created his own Latin-music orchestra. He appeared in several musical films such as "You Were Never Lovelier" (1942), "Stage Door Canteen" (1943), "Bathing Beauty" (1944) and "Neptune's Daughter" (1949).
