Julius Ray Schoppaul, 89, of Denton died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Denton Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 2, 1915, in Bartonville to Jessie G. and Sally Broom Schoppaul. On Dec. 1, 1941, he married Alice Marie Wagner in Rockwall. She died Jan. 26, 1984. In 1996, he married Ann Rayburn. She died in 2003.

He was a welder and a repairman for the La-Dal Phone Company and Southwest Wheel. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

A funeral service will be at noon Tuesday, May 31, at the chapel of Goen-Hudgens Funeral Home. J.F. Norris Jr. and Tim Weaver will officiate. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 29, at Goen-Hudgens Funeral Home in Denton.

Survivors include two sisters, Lorene Smith and Jane C. Smith, both of Lake Dallas; three nephews; and six nieces. He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Julius Ray Schoppaul, 89, of Denton died Saturday, May 28, 2005, at Denton Regional Medical Center.
