Biography
Paul R."Bud" Barron, 86, of Ottawa, IL, died, Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Rivershores Care Center in Marseilles, IL.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi Church with Msgr. Jerome Ham officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 6 at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. with Knights of Columbus in attendance. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, with Military Honors.

Paul was born April 3, 1925, in Ottawa, Illinois to Arthur W. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Pleskovitch) Barron. He married Gertrude Arnold on September 1, 1951 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ottawa. Gertrude died January 27, 1992.

He retired after 40 years from Northern Illinois Gas Co in 1988. He served in the US Army Air Corp/US Air Force from 1944 to 1946 along with his four older siblings who served in different branches of the United States Armed Forces during WW-II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 33 and the K of C.

He is survived by one daughter and seven sons, Michael of Travelers Rest SC; James of Ottawa, IL; Robert of Sioux City, SD; Arthur of Ottawa, IL; Paul (Terri) of Wellford, SC; Jon and Brent (Anne Lauterjung) Barron of Ottawa, IL; and Nancy (Paul) Meyer of Marseilles, IL; nine grandchildren, J. Neil, Zachary, Justin, Ryan, Caleb, Gertie, and Sam Barron, Logan Meyer and Shawna Gadd; six sisters, Lorraine (Bill) Barber of Salem, SC; Shirley Miller of Davenport, IA; Ruth Turner of Glenview, IL; Adele Schott of Ottawa, IL; Donna Barron of Deerfield, IL; and Zeta Conrad of Ottawa, IL; two brothers, Arthur (Mary) of Santa Barbara, CA; and Dr. John (Char) of Lexington, NB; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Francis "Manny" and Lawrence "Butch" Barron.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the donor's
