Glenn Smith
SPRINGFIELD — A niche-side service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Willamette Memorial Mausoleum in Albany for Glenn C. Smith of Springfield, who died May 1 of age-related causes. He was 93.
He was born Jan. 19, 1918, in Wallowa County to Archie and Esta Depew Smith. He married Marian McPherren on Feb. 20, 1942, in Albany.
He graduated from Lebanon High School in 1937 completed his bachelor of science degree in business at the University of Oregon in 1942. He served in the Air Force during World War II. He worked as an office manager and accountant at Truax Oil Inc. in Corvallis for 15 years. He worked for John W. Stokes Company as a traveling auditor of auto dealerships and worked at the University of Oregon business office as an accountant.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Glenn Jr. of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and three grandchildren. A daughter, Ann Paulman, died June 6, 2003.
