WIFE OF J. S. RHODES

MT CRAWFORD, March 14 – Mrs. Annie E. Rhodes, aged 77, wife of J. S. Rhodes and daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Landis, died suddenly at her home here late Saturday night following a stroke of apoplexy. She had been ill only a few hours.

Mrs. Rhodes was a life-long resident of the Mt. Crawford community and the news of her death was a great shock to her many friends as she was loved and held in the highest esteem by all who knew her.

She was an active member in Mt. Crawford Trinity Reformed Church and a woman of high Christian character.

Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her husband, J. S. Rhodes; two daughters, Mrs. William S. Smiley, of Mt. Crawford and Mrs. W. E. Martin of Baltimore and one son, Turner A. Rhodes, a patient at the U. S. Veterans Hospital, Perry Point, Md.; one brother, Minor Landis of Centerville; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

No funeral arrangements have been made.
