US Congressman. He served during the Civil War in the 7th New York Volunteer Infantry, rising to the rank of Captain, and being brevetted Major, US Volunteers. He was elected as a Republican to represent New Jersey's 8th Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1903 to 1907 and 1909 to 1911.
