James (Jim) Q. Adams, Jr., resident of Santa Clara, passed away in his sleep Thursday, May 13, 2010 with his family by his side. He was born on October 26, 1927 in Ashland, Oregon. He was the son of James Q. Adams Sr, and Betty Lund Adams where he lived until 1944/45 when he joined the Army at the age of 17. Jim served in both WWII and Korean War. During the Korean War he joined the Air Force and became an aircraft mechanic and maintained the B29 bomber. Upon his discharge he worked for United Airlines for 10years. He also operated a successful auto repair business (Air and Auto Engineering) for 35+ years in San Jose. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn B. Adams and his four children and their families. His daughter, Jennifer Sliter and husband Brian, son, James Q. Adams III, step-son, Mike Simonds, and step-daughter, Nancy Benjamin and husband Jack; six grand-children, Donovan and Kaizen Sliter, Aaron, Shannon and Kristen Simonds and Rebecca Benjamin; two brothers, Charles and William Adams; several nieces and nephews; very special friends of the family Sheila Galuppo and Denise Procassini. SERVICES: At the United Methodist Church in Santa Clara on May 27, 2010 at 6:00PM, 1700 Lincoln Street Santa Clara Ca 95050. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart of the Valley Service for Seniors 1550 El Camino Real Santa Clara Ca 95050 and/or the Santa Clara United Methodist Church 1700 Lincoln Street, Santa Clara Ca 95050.
