Jesse Ray Asay, 83, was born April 6, 1928 in Lovell, to Zela Marie Schow and Jesse Raymond Asay . He died April 19, 2011, surrounded by his family at his home in Wilcox, Ariz.

His father and mother both preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Ramona; six children, Jeff of Dos Cabesas, Ariz, Jerold of Plateville, Colo., Linda Sedillo of Mesa, Ariz, Laura Kirby sailing the sea, Lou Rae Whitehead of Tucson, Ariz, and Leah Asay of Arvada, Colo, / Willcox, Ariz; four grandchildren and five great-grand children and half-brother Ron Monk of Littleton, Colorado.

Jesse graduated from Cowley High School in 1946, then attended two years at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. After college he married Ramona Sessions in 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple. They then moved to Denver where he worked at different jobs until he was hired by IBM in Boulder, Colo. Starting out as a machinist, he worked himself up in the company by many hours of home study to become a programmer and was moved to Tucson.

Jesse and Ramona spent some time in England setting up and testing computer systems for the company. He retired from IBM in 1991.

They built a home in the little town of Willcox, Ariz. in 1993. Jesse was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several positions including cannery manager, and he and Ramona took care of the girls camp in Alpine, Ariz. for several years. Jesse and Ramona served a two-year mission in Salt Lake City reconditioning computer systems and managing a help line for computers.

Memorial Services were held in Willcox, on Monday April 25, 2011, and graveside services will be held at the Byron Cemetery this Saturday April 30, at 11 a.m. for family and friends.
