Mrs. Joy Gail Tilson Hensley, age 75, Limestone, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Johnson City Medical Center with her husband by her side.
Mrs. Hensley was a native Washington County and daughter of the late Jesse Francis & Mamie Higgins Tilson. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hensley was also preceded in death by her loving son, Terry Lee Hensley; brothers and sister, Evelyn Tilson McCracken, Dorothy Tilson Garber, Dwight Tilson, Forrest Tilson, Kathleen Tilson Usary, William Tilson and Della Tilson.
She was a member of Bowmantown Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hensley was a graduate of East Tennessee State College and retired from the Washington County School System after teaching for 40 years.
Survivors include her loving husband, Ralph H. Hensley, of the home. They would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary July 23, 2011; one brother, Jewell Tilson, Kingsport; and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2011, at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmie Rogers and Rev. Tony Crossnoe officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service.
Interment services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews
