COLUMBIA, Jan. 28 (Special) — Funeral services for Mrs. L. C. Mayes, 74, who died Thursday afternoon after a lengthy illness, were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Springhill Baptist Church, with Rev. Doris Dearman officiating. Interment followed in the Adams Cemetery under direction of the Riser Funeral Home.

Survivors include four sons, Curtis, Tullos; D. G. and H. M., of Grayson; Buddy, Pasadena, Tex.; one daughter, Miss Vivian Mayes, of New Orleans; three step-sons, R. B., Clarks; Jerry, and J. C., of Grayson; one step-daughter, Mrs. Lonnie Smith, Winnfield; two brothers, Charlie and Leonard Benson, both of Clarks; one sister, Mrs. Allen Haddox, Columbia; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
