Minerva Elizabeth Pearce was born Jan. 29, 1870, and departed this life at the home of her son, Edgar Nelson, on Jan. 22, 1947, at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 22 days. She was united in marriage in 1892 to Elijah A. Nelson and to this union were born six children. The husband and three children preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Edgar, two daughters, Mrs. Chlorus Ottendorf and Mrs. Reathel Luce, other relatives and many friends. She was converted early in life and united with the Clever Methodist church of which she was a member at the time of her death. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Clever M.E. church, with Rev. Efton Blades and the pastor, Rev. Haney, officiating. Burial was in Wise Hill cemetery under the direction of the Wilburn Maples Funeral Home of Clever.
