Martina de Vera Geminiano was named for her maternal grandmother. She was the first daughter born to Procopio Geminiano (a soldier with the US Army 31st Infantry Regiment) & Lucina de Vera.

"Martha" (as my mother, her sister, remembers being told) died in infancy about a year before my mother was born. At that time the Philippine Islands were a protectorate of the U.S.A., so all citizens were also American citizens.
