Actor. Featured in many TV shows like "Star Trek," "Perry Mason," and "Mission: Impossible." He was a graduate of Bedford School and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Between 1926 and 1948 he appeared in over 100 different plays in London before moving to the United States in 1952. Torin appeared in "The Miracle Worker", "That Lady", "Hidden Stranger", and "Write Me a Murder" on Broadway. His British screen credits include "The Fallen Idol", "Jassy", "Great Expectations" and "Sabotage." Torin continued appearing in movies and television during his residence in the United States until his death. American film credits include: "The Miracle", "Affair in Trinidad", "Hawaii", "Jack the Giant Killer", "Istanbul", and "Band of Angels." Torin was one of the original founders of the Society for Theatre Research in London. In 1957 he received the Sylvania Award for his performance in The Dupont Show of the Month, "Beyond This Place", a story written by A. J. Cronin.
