Lucille was born in the Forest Grove Community in Milam County, Texas. She graduated from Rockdale High School in 1934, and married Mark Towery at the Milam County Courthouse in Cameron on May 12, 1934. She worked as a Store Clerk at the House Jewelry Store in Taylor for twenty years. Lucille lived in the Salty Community for many years, moved to Thorndale in 1981, and was living in Rockdale at the time of her death. She was a member of the Conoley Community Church, and had served as a Sunday School Teacher at the Salty Community Church for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a lifelong member of the Town and Country Club, and a founding member of the Salty Square Dance Club. Lucille passed away at the Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale, having reached the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents; her son, Jackie Bohn Towery; her son-in-law, Lee Roy Caffey (1941-1994); a sister, Ila Odell Kyle (1914-1926); and brothers, Graham Gillis Kyle (1917-1984) and Henry Welton Kyle (1920-2002). Funeral services were held on the day before Mother's Day at the Salty Community Church, followed by burial in the Salty Cemetery near Thorndale. Rockdale Reporter
