Russell Curtis Pennington,
84, of Cynthiana, Ky., died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Rockcastle County, Ky., March 31, 1927, to the late Russell Pennington and Ora Stokes Delaney.
He was a member of the Oakwood Baptist Church an honorably discharged Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the Frankfort V. F. W.
His sister Rissie Wagner preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Flossie Stivers Pennington, two sons, Estill Curtis Pennington, Paris, Ky., and John Robin Stivers, Corbin, Ky., one brother, George R. (Pat) Pennington, Sr., Frankfort, Ky., one sister, Aleda (Bill) Smallwood, Independence, Ky., two grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A special friend, Debbie Patrick and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at the Drake-Whaley-McCarty Funeral Home, by Reverend Tiger Pennington, with burial in Battle Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
