Marva Jean Forsman Murphy, 42, of Elk City, died May 24, 2010, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, of cancer.

Marva was born Jan. 28, 1968, in Cottonwood, to Marvin B. and Connie J. Forsman. Marva graduated from Clearwater Valley High School at Kooskia in 1986. Her jobs included cook at the Lewis-Clark Resort at Kamiah; bakery assistant in California; bartender in Elk City; and waitress in Kooskia.

Marva enjoyed cake decorating, oil painting, knitting and crocheting, but mostly she loved traveling, hunting, fishing and the outdoors, and loved Easter spent with her nieces and nephews.

Marva was preceded in death by her mother, Connie J. Forsman.

Marva is survived by her father, Marvin B. Forsman, of Elk City; sister Donna and Terry Mayer of Lewiston; brothers Jess and DeVonna Forsman of Lewiston, Scott and Glennella Forsman of Elk City, and Ryan and Reena Forsman of Kooskia; John Murphy of Kamiah; seven nieces; seven nephews; two great-nieces; five great-nephews; and grandmother Jean Berklund.

Visitations will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Trenary Funeral Home Chapel in Kooskia. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Gary Potter officiating. Interment will be at Pine Grove Cemetery in Kooskia. A covered-dish dinner will follow at the IOOF hall in Kooskia; please bring a chair.
