Lloyd Hassel Glenn was born Nov. 29, 1934, in Warren, Texas to Edmond Craig and Mattie Mae (Durham) Glenn. Out of ten children, he was their ninth child. He grew up in Warren and graduate from school there. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and retired from the Army as a Master Sergeant on Feb. 28, 1979, after 23 years of service. During his military career, he served one year in Vietnam. After he retired from the military, he worked at the Goodyear plant in Lawton, Oklahoma, until his death. He died on Sept. 16, 1990, of a heart attack in his home in Lawton. He was only 55 years old.

While on a tour in Germany, he met Gisela Ann Freimann. They got married on June 10, 1959, in Landshut, Germany. They had three children, Lorene Maria, JoAnn Kathleen and Robert Wolfgang. He also was foster dad to Craig and Mark Vance.

Master Sgt. Glenn was buried at Fort Still cemetery with full military honors.
