American Physicist. He graduated from Harvard University in 1893 and from the University of Berlin in 1897. He taught at the University of Colorado (1898-1907) and worked at the Curie Radium Laboratory in Paris, France (1907-1913). In 1913 he returned to Harvard as a Professor to teach biophysics, 1917 to 1934. He is best known for his research in radioactivity and x-rays.
