Private, Company I, 342nd Infantry, 86th Division. Son of Mrs Emma Reed-Todd; born May 26, 1893 in Lynn Township, Knox County. Entered service at Galesburg, June 24, 1918; to Camp Grant; overseas September 8, 1918; contracted influenza on way across; recovered sufficiently to be sent back to his company, then suffered a relapse and died on October 13, 1918; given a military funeral and originally buried in an American cemetery, near Libourne, France.
