Martin P. Golden, 95, formerly of Trafford, Pa. died Monday, December 19, 2016. He was born December 2, 1921, in Lowell, Mass., son of the late Martin T. and Agnes OConnor Golden.
He was a 1939 graduate of Lynn English High School in Lynn, Mass. and a graduate of the University of Iowa, with a MSME in 1950. He was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Tau Sigma.
He had been a member of St. John Vianney Church in Round Rock, Tex. and attended St. Regis Church in Trafford, Pa. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the Navy.
Prior to retirement from Westinghouse Electric Corp., Mr. Golden worked as a nuclear engineer for General Electric and General Dynamics. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Regina Seelman Golden, and a sister, Mary D. Cabral. He is survived by three children: Constance R. (Kaly) Ghosh, of Roswell, Ga., Matthew S. (Mary Ann) Golden, of Greensburg, Pa., and Jerome A. (Florence) Golden, of Carlsbad, N.M.; three grandchildren: Michael S. (Jamie) Golden, of Greensburg, Pa., Mark T. (Kimberly) Golden, of Coronado, Calif., and Patrick J.(Cristina) Ghosh, of Marietta, Ga.; two great-grandchildren: Gabriel and McKayla Golden, of Greensburg, Pa., Sarah Acevedo of Marietta, Ga.; and a sister, Catherine A. McCarthy, of Laguna Hills, Calif.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, December 29, at John Vianney Church, 3201 Sunrise Road, Round Rock, TX 78665. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery, Georgetown, Tex.
