US Congressman. He graduated from Parker College Minnesota, held executive positions in wholesale and retail department stores throughout Minnesota and the Dakotas. He was a delegate to the Republican National Convention and a member of the Republican State executive committee in 1940. In 1941, he was elected as a Republican to the Seventy-seventh Congress, serving until 1943 and again to the Seventy-ninth and Eightieth Congresses, serving (1945-49). An unsuccessful candidate for re-nomination, he resumed the merchandising business in Bismarck, North Dakota, plus paint manufacturing in Washington, D.C. and was named an advisory member of the Hoover Commission on the reorganization of the Government in 1949, serving until his death at age 61.
