MORTIMER BLAKEMORE
Funeral rites for Mortimer Blakemore, 49, who died in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday, June 26, were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home in Chariton on Sunday afternoon, June 30, at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Elder Parley Batten, of the Latter Day Saints church, and burial was in the Chariton cemetery.
Mortimer Blakemore, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Blakemore, was born in Lucas, Iowa, on June 27, 1886. For many years he lived at that place, and for a time his home was in Chariton.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. J. A. Evans, and one sister, Mrs. M. L. Beitel, both of Chariton, and three step-sisters, Mrs. David Marshall, of Chariton, Mrs. Elie Marshall, of Hiteman, and Mrs. Lem Ginn, of Wichita, Kans., and other relatives and friends.
