Mrs. Myrtle Rhua Rees, 78, of Danville, passed away at 8 a.m. Dec. 30 in St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient a week.

The deceased was bon in Homer, June 21, 1885, daughter of Solomon and Josephine Craig Carrell, and attended school here.

She moved to Danville in 1903 when she was married to John Robert Reese, who survives. The Reeses observed their 60th wedding anniversary just 2 weeks ago.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marine Irene Linne and Mrs. Beulah Colburn, both of Danville, and a niece, who she reared, Mrs. Louise Raboin of Joliet. Two grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Reese was preceded in death by a daughter, 3 sisters, and 3 brothers, one of whom was the late William Johnson of Homer.

Mrs. Bessie Chapman of Homer is a niece of the deceased.

She had been a member of McKinley Methodist Church since 1903, and taught the boys' Sunday school class for 22 years. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge 637, and of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Patriarchs Militant.
