Services for Claire J. Aitchison, 84, were held May 19 at Sacred Heart Church, Monticello. Burial followed in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
The Rev. J. V. O'Brien officiated. Mr. Aitchison died May 16 at his home in rural Monticello. Claire Aitchison was born June 22,1896 in Cascade, the son of William and Jane (Burke) Aitchison. He attended schools in Cascade and Monticello. On Feb. 22, 1921, Claire Aitchison married Margaret Buol in the Sacred Heart Church. He farmed all his life until he retired in 1966. He was a veteran of World War I and was a 50-year member of the Monticello American Legion. Mr. Aitchison is survived by his wife, a son, Bill of Monticello, two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Mary Jane)Freese, Monticello, and Mrs. Irvin (Lorraine) Husmann, Scotch Grove, 11 grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren and a sister, Miss Marguriete Aitchison, Monticello.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister. Casketbearers were George Burrichter, Peter Jay Hasler, George Nordmann, Marvin Peters, Paul Muller and Rudolph Ambuehl.
