Martha Ann Buzzell, was the daughter of a minister, born into a large family, at Parsonsfield, ME. She met her husband, Sewell HOBSON, at Parsonsfield Seminary, Maine, when they were both attending there. He was son of Capt. Jabez and Betsy (Hancock) HOBSON. The Hobson family were in the lumbering industry.
She and Sewell had six children, two, Adelaide and Edward C., having died young.

1) Ethelinda Hobson Tucker, bn 1837;
2) Anna Elizabeth, bn 1838, mar. first, Jack Seward; second, Marshall Paine;
3) Alma Martha, bn 1848, mar. Stephen A Cousins. She was head of the Free Baptist Women's Missionary Society for years and was a devoted member;
4) James Edward, bn 1851.
