BALLARD, UINTAH CO. - Orlan Cook, age 83, of Ballard, died July 2, 2001.
He was born March 25, 1918 in Hayden, Uintah County to John H. and Amelia Eliza Goodrich Cook.
He married Myrtle Louise Collins April 21, 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple, she died Oct. 26, 1997. He married Merlyn Taylor Uresk June 20, 2000 in the Reno Nevada Temple.
Orlan served as Uintah County Commissioner and as Bishop of the Ballard Ward.
He is survived by his wife, of Myton, four children, Judy (Lynn) Cornia, Riverton, WY; Peggy (Tracy) Killian, Roosevelt; Brent (Toni) Cook, Ballard; Grant (Darlene) Cook, Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Agnes Lubniewski of LaVerkin; and Edith Harmston of Vernal. He was preceded in death by brothers Wayne, Jack and Fred Cook.
Funeral Friday, 1 p.m., at the Ballard LDS Church. Friends may call at the Hullinger Mortuary 457 E. 300 N., Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and Friday at the church from 12-12:45 p.m. Inter-ment in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
