George Bell Timmerman Jr. (1912-1994)

US Governor. Governor of South Carolina from 1955 to 1959. Graduated from the Citadel, later graduating from law school at the University of South Carolina. Served in the US Navy as Lt. during WWII. Elected South Carolina Lt. Governor in 1950 and Governor in 1954. After his term as Governor he returned to private practice and was elected a Judge of the 11th Judicial Circuit.
