Helen Francis Hall was the third of three children born to Edwin and Mary Morgan (Beebe) Hall in Jun 1844, in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio. She was the only one of the children that lived to adulthood. She married Rush Richard Sloane about 1874 as his second wife and together they had two children: Helen Sarah and Mary Beebe. Only Helen lived to adulthood.

In 1870 she was 23 living with her parents, Edwin, 55, and Mary M., 48, in the hotel which her father managed in Elyria, Lorain County, Ohio.

She was found in the 1900 Federal Census for Sandusky Ward 1, Erie County, Ohio, at 55 living with her husband, Rusty R., 71, and their daughter, Mary B., 20, and three servants. Rush's occupation was given as retired.

She was mentioned in her mother's obituary in The Elyria Reporter, Elyria, Ohio, of September, 12, 1903, page 1, column 2, as the only living daugher of Mary Morgan Hall and Edwin Hall.

In 1910 she was living in Sandusky, Erie County, Ohio, a widow with no age given (65) and with a step-son, Frank S. Sloane, 42, a widow, and a servant. No occupations were listed for Helen or Frank.

She was still living in Sandusky in 1920 at 75 with a companion, Emma J. Robinson, 63, and a servant, Jenny McGory, 55.
