Richard E. "Dick" Callahan, of Harmar, died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Forbes Hospice, Pittsburgh. He was born March 27, 1936, in Pittsburgh, to the late William H. and Agnes (Krucker) Callahan. Dick was self-employed and retired from his business, National Home Products. He served in the Army during World War II. He was the beloved partner of Beth Liptak, of Harmar; brother of Ethel (Albert "Chub") Takacs, of Monroeville, Dennis (Diane) Callahan, of West Deer Township; and the late William H. Callahan Jr.; also survived by Beth's children, Linda Moore and her fiance, Brent Mizenko, and Michael (Denise) Liptak, of Imperial; devoted pap to Michael Liptak and Christopher Reda. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION & ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. Blessing service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Father Frank Kurimsky officiating. Interment will follow at Bull Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Family suggests memorials to Forbes Hospice, 4800 Friendship Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
