IRMA LASEK Obituary

Irma Helen Hall Lasek went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at the age of 86. She was the sixth of six daughters born on May 17, 1923, in Fresno, Ca. to James Wilburn Hall of Maysville, Missouri, and Helen Eliza Carter Hall of Windsor, Missouri. After graduating from Fresno High School, she met the love of her life, Wally, at a dance at the Rainbow Ballroom. While he was overseas serving in the U.S. Army, she sewed U.S. Flags for our government here in the states. She was a dedicated and proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who was the Rock of Gibraltar for the family. A member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Irma was a devout Catholic and faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ. She always had a kind word for everyone she met. Gifted Irma played the organ, painted, cooked, and had a beautiful rose garden. The family wishes to thank the St. Agnes Priests, Nuns, and ICU Unit for their loving care provided to Irma in her final days. Irma was preceded in death by Walter Thomas Lasek, Sr., her beloved husband of 64 years; her son, Walter Thomas Lasek, Jr.; her daughter, Kathleen Helen Lasek; and her five older sisters, Flora Anderson, Beulah Bear, Naomi Ellis, Cleora Lott, and Evelyn Wegley. She is survived by her youngest son, James Joseph Lasek and his wife Karen; daughter-in-law, Joyce Lasek; six grandchildren, Christina, Jennifer, David, Lori, Sarah, and James; ten great-grandchildren; and niece, Doris King and her husband Jim. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Monday, March 15, 2010 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Belmont Memorial Park.
