Accompanied Pershing's expedition into Mexico in 1916, interviewed Francisco "Pancho" Villa.
WWI Veteran - Suffered gassing in the WWI Oct 8 1918 attack at Etienne, for which he was awarded the Croix De Guerre for bravery, he never fully recovered his health.
