Obituary
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2011 at a 1:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Anna Belle Altemus, age 85, the former Anna Belle Prejean, who passed away Friday, April 29, 2011 at her residence in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Lafayette, the Rev. Allen Breaux, associate pastor of St. Theresa/Benedict Church will officiate at the services.

Ms. Altemus was a native of Cankton and a resident of Lafayette for many years. She retired from Lafayette General Medical Center with 27 years service and Southwest Medical Center with 8 years. Ms. Altemus was a member of CFMA and Exxon Annuity Club.

Survivors include one son, Danny Hernandez and his wife, Peggy M., of Carencro; three daughters, Judy Sensat and her companion, John Stelly, of Lafayette, Maria Duhon and her husband, Charles, of Lafayette and Yvonne Johnson and her husband, Kelly, of Carencro; two step daughters, Cynthia Day and Lydia Aucoin both of Baton Rouge; one sister-in-law, Leola Breaux of Scott; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three nieces; and her dog and faithful companion, Maggie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Murphy Altemus; her former husband John Allen " Bod" Hernandez; her parents, Louis Prejean and the former Elive Comeaux, both natives of Cankton; one brother, Alex Prejean; one sister-in-law, Grace S. Prejean; one step son, Donald Altemus; and one step daughter, Jackie Brewer.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
