. James E. Day, age 65, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011 in a Pensacola healthcare facility. Mr. Day was a native and lifelong resident of Escambia County, AL. He was member of the W.S. Neal Highschool Class of '64, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was a machine operator at Georgia Pacific. He was of the Protestant faith and was a member of American Legion Post #79. Mr. Day was preceded in death by his father, Lester Day.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Laura W. Day of Brewton; one son, Phillip (Beth) Day of Brewton; on brother, Sammy Day of Brewton; one sister, Polly (James) Ward of San Antonio, TX; two grandchildren, Jessica Day and Kelsey Day.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at Weaver Family Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Cardwell officiating.
Visitation will be held at Craver's Funeral Home on Friday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
