Actor. He was a prolific performer, whom appeared in countless films and TV shows for over five decades. He began his career as voice actor on radio and broke into films as a narrator for the movies such as "Never Fear" (1949) and "Broken Arrow" (1950). Branching into films as a performer, some of his most memorable appearances were in "12 O'Clock High" (1949), "The Day the Earth Stood Still" (1951), "The Ten Commandments" (1956), "The Difiant Ones" (1958) and "Patton" (1970). For television, he was a regular on "The DuPont Show", "The Untouchables", "The Streets of San Francisco", "Night Court" and "The Rockford Files". He also directed for television, with the pilot episode for "The Munsters" (1964) and 16 episodes of "The Waltons" (1971 to 1981).
