Winona G. Sprague age 82, died on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in Ionia. She was born in Mio, MI. to Kenneth and Eunice (Stoudt) Fenn, on May 25th, 1932.
She was a long time resident of the Ionia area. Winona married Raymond Sprague December 15, 1948. They had three children and shared 55 wonderful years together. He preceded her in death, March 26, 2003.
She was employed at General Telephone in Muir from 1951 – 1956, American Auto Felt / Chrysler from 1956 – 1979 and lastly for her son-in-law at Mike Kirgis Insurance for 16 years. Winona was very involved with her church, especially all the church dinners. She loved gardening, baking, reading and going to the casino. She was a loving and devoted wife, wonderful mother, and proud grandmother and great grandmother. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by everyone that knew her.
Winona is survived by her daughters, Charlene (Mike) Kirgis of Ionia and Sarah (Al) Munkacsy of Melbourne, FL; sister, Joyce (Russ) McGregor of Traverse City; grandchildren, Rhett, Tate, Megan, Samantha, Christopher, Michelle and Alix and 7 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Kevin Sprague in 2012 and three sisters, Ardath Knepp, Sandra Gladding and Audrey Henry. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 17th, 2:00 P.M. at Lyons-Muir Church with Pastor Bert Nelson officiating. Visitation will be Friday 12:00 P.M. until time of service at the church.
