Mable Acklin, 89, of Conway, Arkansas was called home to her eternal rest on Thursday, February 15, 2005 at St. Andrews Nursing Home. She was born Novembner 3, 1915 in Alma, Arkansas to the late Mrs. Naomi Owens Acklin. She was preceded in death by her mother and one sister, Betty Joe Fuller. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age in Alma, Arkansas. After moving to Conway, she united with the Mt. Gale Missionary Baptist Church where she served the Lord well. She was Chairman of the Kitchen Committee for years and served as an usher for years. She also served as devotional leader of the Women's Mission until health rendered her unable to serve, yet she never stopped being concerned about her church.
She was not only a faithful member of her church, but a lovely person to the whole community, where she was fondly known to everyone as "Aunt Mable."
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving devoted husband, Norman Acklin; three sons, Clarence Owens of Columbia, South Carolina, Anthony Acklin of Amarillo Texas and Leo Acklin of St. Lois, Mo; three daughters, Mary Fourte, Ruth Griffin, both of Conway, Arkansas, and Darlene Greenway of Gainsville, Florida; three sisters, Francis Acklin, Mary Morris of Conway, and Helen Callahan of Los Angeles, Ca; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at the Mt. Gale Missionary Baptist Church. Arrangements by Larry G. Acklin Funeral Home of Conway.
