Russian businessman and collector. He graduated from the Moscow Academy of Commercial Academy. After he inherited his father's needle plant he managed to turn it into a successful manufacture. He started arts collecting in 1890, concentrating on Russian paintings. He also collected antique furniture. After the February Revolution Hirschman joined the "Union leaders Moscow Art Warehouse (deputy chairman, and in 1918 chairman), who sought to promote the development of museum. In 1918, his own mansion was turned into repository of Hirschman Museum Fund. In early 1919, his collection was nationalized and soon after he emigrated to France.
