FUNERAL OF D.W. CRANDALL
Masons, Oddfellows and Pioneers turn out in Force.
The funeral of D.W.Crandall was held yesterday after noon from his late home, 651 Belmont, street, under the auspices of Willamette Lodge , No. 2 , A.F. & A.M. At the house Rev. T. Ellott conducted the services in a brief and impressive manner, after which Willamette Lodge took charge and performed the masonic rites.
Mr. Crandall had been a prominent member of the Masonic and Oddfellows orders and was a member of the Oregon Pioneer Association. He came to Oregon with his parents in 1852, and with them settled in the Waldo Hills, moving to Portland 34 years ago, where he was a contractor and a builder.
The following Lodgers were present at the funeral: Willamette Lodge , No. 2 , A.F. & A.M., Portland Lodge No. 55 A.F. & A.M., Oregon Lodge of Perfection, No. 1 A and A.S., Myrtle Chapter No. 15 O.E.S., Ellison Encampment No. 1 I.O.O.F., Hassallo Lodge No.15 I.O.O.F., Acme Rebekah Lodge No. 32 I.O.O.F., and Industry Lodge No. 8 A.O.U.W.
Mr. Crandall came of a distinguished family. Capt. Clark P. Crandall, his brother, was long connected with the editorial department of the Oregonian in the early days.
