George was the eldest son of Joseph and Sarah (Massey) Hamilton. George married Celestia J. Davis on December 29, 1867, in Monroe County, IA. They had three children: Charles C; Florence J; and Franklin P. George died at his daughter's home in Waterloo, Iowa.
