Wheelersburg - Mrs. Lillian Esther Barney, 77, of Logan, formerly of Wheelersburg, died Sunday night in Logan. A native of Scioto County, she was a retired sixth-grade teacher at Wheelersburg Elementary School and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church here. Her husband C. H.(Jake)Barney, died in 1963.
Surviving are a son, John S. Barney of Waynesville, a brother, Raymond Smith of Cincinnati; 3 sisters, Mrs. Leonore Cross of Lucasville, Mrs. Lorraine Staker, 7476 Ohio River Rd., Sciotoville, and Mrs. Lorena Fisher of Wheelersburg, Rt. 2, and 6 grandchildren. Services are to be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church with Rev. T. Edward Hodding officiating. Interment is to be in the church cemetery under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home here. There is to be no visitation.
