Janet M. Montgomery, 82 passed away Sunday September 28, 2008 peacefully at home. She graduated from Highland Park High School and studied art under Perry Nichols at Hockaday. She decorated windows at Neiman Marcus in Dallas where she met Mike Montgomery. They soon married in 1947. They enjoyed fishing, taking annual Buena Vista, Colorado trips to Rainbow Lake and weekends at Cedar Creek Lake where they finally retired in 1991. She was an accomplished artist. She painted incredible landscapes in oils. Her work was exhibited and sold at renowned galleries in Dallas, Ft Worth, Arkansas and New Mexico. She was a devoted loving wife to Mike, a wonderful mother and friend to her children, the children's spouses and grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Mike Montgomery, parents Albert and Sybil Pranger and brother, Matthew Pranger. Survived by son, Mike Montgomery Jr., daughters Patricia Hull and Susan Smith, 7 grandchildren, 4 1/2 great-grandchildren, sister, Daisy Freeman, daughter-in-law Nora Montgomery, son-in-law Frank Hull. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 01, 2008 from 6-8 pm. Services and interment 1pm Thursday, October 02, 2008 at Grove Hill Serenity Chapel and interment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
