Danielle Monique Myers, resident of Lancaster, CA, 11-18-81 4-30-10. Born in San Jose, CA resided in Lancaster, CA, 28 years old. Monique is survived by her husband of 8 ½ years, Christopher Curtis Myers; her parents, Michael & Jeanne Gonzales; father/mother-in-law Sam & Yvonne Myers; grandparents, Manuel & Carmen Gonzales; Aunts' Teresa (Gunnar), Arlene (Robert), cousins Carol, (Mark, Maya, Keira) & Jason, Uncle Marty (MaryHelen), cousins Lisa, Frank, Jessica), cousin Michael Gabriel (Esther) Cortez; Uncle's Manuel (Char), Philip (Alva), Andy, Aunts' Lena (Lou); Rebecca (Paul) Stephanie (Jeff), father, Ernest Denys Jr, 3 brothers; grand-parents, Ernesto Sr. & Yolanda Denys and many more uncles, aunts, cousins & friends. She is preceded in death by her grandfather Martin R & Jessie C Cortez and Uncle Michael P. Cortez. Monique was a vibrant young woman, who touched many people's lives, her time on earth was short but Monique lived it to the fullest. She had many friends; all who knew Monique knew she found her soul mate in her husband Christopher; she loved her family and pets dearly. Monique was very involved in her community, along with her Dad as members of the Welch Park Community Action Group, in partnership with KR Smith Elementary School & the City of San Jose; she helped with the redesign and beautification of Welch Park. Monique attended WC Overfelt High School where she was a member of the Puente Program, she graduated from Westmont High School, class of 2000, she participated in many academic, summer school & community service programs, she participated annually at the Adelante Mujer Hispania Women's Conference; she ran track, she was a Cheerleader; she loved photography & journalism, she wrote for both her school newspapers and at Westmont she wrote movie reviews. She attended CSU Monterey Bay State College where she majored in Communications. Monique loved to read, and enjoyed watching movies, she was an avid sports fan; she was a Pittsburgh Steelers, Atlanta Braves, UCLA Bruin's, and above all (Kobe Bryant) Los Angeles Lakers fan. Whenever she could, she and Chris would travel to LA to attend LA Lakers and UCLA Bruin sport functions. Before she passed, Monique attended a UCLA Bruin's scrimmage; one of the last photographs of Monique was with 49er Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice. My little was an Angel; you are now one with the Lord; no more suffering, no more pain. We wait until the day when we join you for eternity in heaven. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with a vigil beginning at 7:00 PM at DARLING FISCHER GARDEN CHAPEL, 471 E. Santa Clara Street, San Jose CA. Mass Celebration will be Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM, Five Wounds Catholic Church, 1375 E. Santa Clara Street, San Jose, CA.
