Leon D. Woodall, 84, of Mountain Pine, formerly of Bismarck, died peacefully Thursday, April 28, 2011, at home. Born Nov. 30, 1926, in Alpine, Ark., he served in the Army during World War II and was a member of VFW Post 2278 of Hot Springs. He retired from Arkansas State Forestry Commission where he was known by his CB friends as Bismarck Mountain Climber. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 62 years, Wilma Lee Woodall, his parents, Dewey and Gracie Woodall, two sons, Charles Lynn Woodall and Eldon Dean Woodall.

Survivors include two daughters, Billie S. Furr and her husband Harold, of Mountain Pine, and Brenda Smart and her husband Thomas, of Nixa, Mo.; seven sons, Robert Lee Woodall and wife Donna, of Bismarck, Jimmy Woodall and wife, Bonnie, of Hot Springs, Pat J. Woodall, of Hot Springs, Arnold Woodall, of Mountain Pine, Kerry Paul Woodall, of Hot Springs, Calvin Woodall, of Bismarck, and Richard Woodall, of Bismarck; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great-grand-dogs, one sister, Lillie Constant and one brother, D.L. Woodall.

Funeral services were Monday at Gross Funeral Home chapel. Pallbearers were Gregory Furr, Robert Foster, Jeff Smart, Pete Woodall, Bruce Woodall, Hunter Furr and Michael Paul Woodall. Honorary pallbearers were Hospice of Central Arkansas, Dr. Richard Finch, Dr. Neeraj Bharany, Dr. Kevin Rudder, Dr. Kaul and the nursing staff medical and surgical floor of National Park Medical Center. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery at Alpine, Ark.
