Ella Veronice Gee Collins, age 85, of Jordan Court, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Friday evening, April 29, 2011, at Carter Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Kentucky.
Mrs. Collins was born September 12, 1925, in Hampton, Tennessee, a daughter of the late John W. and Ella Mae Trivett Gee.
Ella was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Egypt Court # 76 Ladies Shriners of Lousiville, Kentucky. She was also a member of the Olive Hill Eastern Star.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-six years, Wayne Nelson Collins, who passed away October 27, 2005; one son, Joseph Nelson Collins; one brother, Donald Wayne Gee; and one sister, Josephine Gee.
Ella is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Jay Fred and Carolyn Collins and Wayne Russell Collins, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter-in-law, Jo Ann Collins of Canal Fulton, Ohio; one granddaughter whom resided with her, Chandra Lydia Collins of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter and son in-law, Mary Lynne and Larry Reilly of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren, Chandra Lydia Collins, Jason Todd Sharritt, Laura Downey, Mary Fisher and Mollie Brown; twelve great grandchildren, one brother and sister in-law, Tommy and Donna Gee of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; three sisters and brother in-law, Betty and J.C. Raybourn, Orlia Gee Duncan and Virginia Gee Luncan, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky. She also leaves several other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Bob Burton officiating. Entombment will follow in the Olive Hill Memorial Park.
Friends may call after 12:00 noon Monday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill Kentucky.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
