SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Harvey W. Cain, 100, of South Sioux City died Sunday, June 8, 2003, at a South Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Chuck Rager officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present at 6 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Cain was born April 14, 1903, in Dakota City, the son of John J. and Mary A. (Critser) Cain.

He married Alma A. Harvey on Oct. 11, 1930, in South Sioux City. They were lifelong residents of Dakota County. Mrs. Cain died Oct. 27, 1999, in South Sioux City.

He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in South Sioux City.

Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Della Bean of South Sioux City and Eva Harvey of San Leandro, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; six sisters, Laura Shook, Mary Matz, Sarah Belle Lake, Nettie Moore, Charlotte Sass and Grace Cox; and three brothers, John, Valley Lee and Joseph Cain.

Pallbearers will be Lloyd Cain Jr., Peter Jorgensen, Charles Bean, Leon Kent, Edward Cain and Kenneth Sheley.

Memorials in his name may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland or the Cancer Research Center
