Ernestine Wright Wall, age 87of West Frankfort went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at her residence. She was born October 24, 1921 in West Frankfort to Robert M. Wright and Carrie ( Lee ) Wright.

She was married to Jewell D. Wall and he preceded her in death on November 18, 1984.

She is survived by her two sons, Mark and wife Susan Wall of West Frankfort and Phillip and Joyce Wall of West Frankfort. Grandchildren, Letitia Wall and Megan and Husband Jeff Hannel and their daughter Rebecca Lynn all of West Frankfort. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Gladys Wright of West Frankfort who was her dear friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Opal Waller and Mrs. Waller's son Wayne and Glorine Miller and by 3 brothers, Bennett, Lanzel and Leon Wright and by several nieces and nephews.

She attended Logan and West Frankfort High Schools. She was joined in marriage to Jewell Dean Wall at the home of her parents on her 18th birthday. They were happily married for 48 years until Jewell died suddenly on November 18, 1984. She and her husband were converted and became members of the Calvary Baptist Church in West Frankfort on Feb. 9th 1947. In addition to being blessed as a wife, mother and homemaker, she was honored by teaching the Willing Workers Class for many years and she and her husband taught a group of intermediate boys and girls an hour each week and enjoyed parties and hay rides at different seasons. She and long time friend Neva Jent visited home bound church members monthly for 22 years.


Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Rev. Alan Summers and Rev. Lloyd Whittaker officiating. Burial will be in the Brady Cemetery in Akin. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Calvary Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
