Mark was born Feb. 15, 1958, in Bismarck, to Otto and Virginia (Haux) Knapp. He was a veteran with the U.S. Navy from 1976 to 1980 as an aviation maintenance technician (hydraulics). He spent his time surfing the Internet looking for military records, metals, clothing and their history.
He will be missed greatly by his many long-time friends and family.
He is survived by his mother, Virginia Knapp, Bismarck; brothers, Bruce (Deb), Coon Rapids, Minn., Allan (Fran), Bismarck, and Craig (Serlita), Kingman, Ariz.; and sisters, Deb (Al) Zahn, Bismarck, and Julie Knapp, Conifer, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otto A. Knapp.
