NASHVILLE - C. F. Carter, 54, operating manager of the Nashville Gas & Heating Company, died yesterday at his residence in Nashville. Tenn. after a short illness.
A native of Macon, Georgia, he had been a Nashville resident since 1919. He attended Alabama Polytechnic at Auburn, where he was graduated in chemical engineering.
Surviving are his wife; two brothers, Dr. Benjamin T. Carter of Atlanta and Dr. W. W. Carter of Bronxville, NY; and a sister, Mrs. James Allen Smith of Atlanta.
Funeral services will be held in Nashville this afternoon with burial in Murfreesboro.
