David Davis moved to Texas shortly before 1860 when he married his second wife Emily Ellis in Lavaca County Texas. He moved to Menard County before 1880. His wife Emily and their six sons moved to first New Mexico and later Arizona.
David and Emily's daughter Mattie Martha Elizabeth Davis married Abraham Ellis in Menard County. Neither David nor his daughter and son in law went to Arizona.
Emily came back to Texas by train several times to visit her daughter and her sister Amanda Crowell.
In different records Emily is called Mildred, Milly, and Emilia.
