She was born Jan. 12, 1942, in Bennington, the daughter of Arthur and Emma (Allen) Phillips.
She was a graduate of Bennington High School.
In earlier years, she worked as an assistant cook at Paradise Restaurant in Bennington. She was also employed at Bennington Potters and Thomson Manufacturing Co.
She was a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church.
She enjoyed watching game shows on television and playing Scrabble.
Survivors include a son, Jeff Phillips of North Carolina; two grandsons; two sisters, Lillian and Audrey Phillips of Bennington; two brothers, Fred Phillips of Bennington and James Phillips of North Carolina; four nieces, a nephew and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice O'Brien; a brother, Donald Phillips; a niece and a nephew.
The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 1, at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home where friends may call from 1 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VNA and Hospice at Southwestern Vermont Health Care or Southwestern Vermont Regional Cancer Center, in care of Mahar and Son Funeral Home, 628 Main St., Bennington, VT 05201.
